Denise Prégent

A self-taught painter, Denise has always been very creative. From a very young age, she has satisfied her creativity with various forms of art. Born in Eastern Ontario, she left her home town at the age of 12 and moved to Ottawa with her family. At the age of 15, she was initiated to oil painting and her first experience was to paint with the spatula.

As a mother of two children, she devoted her young adult years to her family. Thereafter, she worked in different areas such as management, sales and interior design. Throughout the years, she followed many painting courses to learn various techniques and mediums. During the fall of 2011, she followed a workshop with the artist Gordon Harrison and in the spring of 2012, participated in a showing at his art gallery in Ottawa.

Over the years, she explored different styles such as surrealism and abstract. After many years, she came back to an impressionistic style executed with oil and the spatula. This style gives her paintings a rich and particular texture with vibrant colors. Her passion for world travels allowed her to admire art and beauty in many countries and cultures.
